Establishment
Trung Vuong University was established according to Decision No. 700/QD-TTg dated May 18, 2010, by the Prime Minister. Since then, the University has officially become a member of the national education system. After more than 10 years of formation and development, the University is now a multi-disciplinary and multi-field higher education institution. It aims to be a high-quality and reputable place for training, scientific research, technology transfer, and community service, holding an important position in the country’s higher education system.
Milestones
In 2007, Mrs. Ninh Thi Ty, the Hero of Labor in the renovation period (then the CEO of Ho Guom Garment Company) – along with scientists, initiated the project to establish the university under the auspices of the Vietnam Construction Association.
After three years of preparing the necessary conditions to obtain operational approval from the Prime Minister, the founders of Trung Vuong University had to complete the following tasks:
Developing comprehensive scientific justifications for the establishment of Trung Vuong University according to the government’s planning within the national network of universities, as well as complete economic and technical justifications for the fields of study the university intended to offer.
Assembling a full complement of permanent faculty members for the various training programs, with titles and academic qualifications in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Demonstrated financial capability, specifically by raising a total of VND 30 billion in a bank account contributed by the founders to establish the University. This was the minimum charter capital required by the government for establishing new university at that time. According to current regulations, the minimum charter capital mandated by the government is VND 1,000 billion.
Regarding infrastructure, provided complete documentation for the allocation of 15 hectares of land from local authorities within the planning framework for the future construction of the Trung Vuong University complex.
In February 2010, the University’s founding board submitted the complete application for approval to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Government Office. After nearly three months of review and appraisal , the state management agencies submitted the application to the Prime Minister for approval to establish the university.
On May 18, 2010, after nearly three and a half years of developing the conditions to ensure training quality as required, Trung Vuong University was granted the establishment decision by the Prime Minister, and the recognition decision by the Ministry of Education and Training. Mrs. Ninh Thi Ty officially became the first Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the University.
Since 2020, following the amended Higher Education Law of 2018, the Board of Directors of Trung Vuong University for the 2020-2025 term, recognized by the investors’ conference, consists of 7 members.
In May 2021, the investors’ conference decided to replace Mr. Luu Viet Tinh with Mr. Nguyen Huy Oanh as a member of the Board. In October 2022, the Chairwoman of the Board decided to appoint Mr. Phan Trong Phuc as Vice Chairman of the Board.
In its development history, after 14 years of operation until now, the current Board of Directors of Trung Vuong University consists of four members with specific assignments as follows:

- Increase in the number of students and graduate students
Over 14 years of training, Trung Vuong University currently has 5,000 students and graduate students. By 2022, the University had admitted 13 cohorts of regular undergraduate students; 9 cohorts have graduated with nearly 10,000 bachelor’s degrees. Annually, more than 2,000 students are enrolled in 8 training programs.
In terms of postgraduate education, the University has over 1,000 master’s graduates. Currently, Trung Vuong University has nearly 300 master’s students enrolled in 2 training programs.
The employment rate for graduates working in their trained fields exceeds 90% according to surveys, with many programs achieving a 100% employment rate, offering high starting salaries and good advancement opportunities.
- Increase in the Quantity and Quality of Permanent Staff and Faculty
As of June 2022, the University has more than 100 permanent faculty members, including Professors, Associate Professors, PhDs, and Masters, along with nearly 100 visiting lecturers from domestic and international universities.
- Increase in Facilities for Training
The University has rapidly expanded its facilities to support training activities. The total land area of the University is nearly 15 hectares, dedicated to building the University complex at the Vinh Phuc campus. The total floor area built in phase 1 for training and scientific research includes: an auditorium, lecture halls, library, learning resource center, laboratories, practice rooms, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a football field, a basketball court, and a national defense and security training ground.
Currently, the University has officially been granted permission to establish an Admission and Practical training facility with modern equipment at Tower C, Ho Guom Plaza, No. 102 Tran Phu, Ha Dong, Hanoi.
