On October 14, 2025, the Faculty of Tourism – Trung Vuong University organized a field trip for students and freshmen of Cohort 16 to Duong Lam Ancient Village (Son Tay, Hanoi).

The delegation was led by Dr. Nguyen Van Binh – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, accompanied by M.A. Tran Thi Thuy – Vice Dean, M.A. Nguyen Thi Minh Thu – Lecturer, M.A. Dang Thi Thanh Mai – Lecturer, along with faculty members and all students and freshmen of Cohort 16.

Known as the “ancient village of Vietnam,” Duong Lam Ancient Village preserves the quintessential beauty of the Northern countryside with its peaceful landscapes, ancient architecture, and rich cultural and historical traditions. Visitors here can “travel back in time” to experience the atmosphere of an old Vietnamese village and enjoy rustic specialties of the Đoài region such as keo doi (peanut candy), che lam (sweet rice cake), soybean sauce, and Mia chicken.

Morning session (8:00 – 11:00)

Students visited and explored key heritage sites of the ancient village, including:
Mong Phu Village Gate – a symbol of traditional Vietnamese villages.
Mong Phu Communal House – a 17th-century architectural relic and the community center of the villagers.
The Ancient House of Mr. Hung and Mrs. Duong – a 300-year-old laterite house representing the typical architecture of the Đoài region.
The village well – banyan tree – communal yard complex, an iconic image of Vietnamese rural life.

Noon session (11:15 – 13:30)

The group had lunch at Bep Lang Restaurant, where they enjoyed local specialties prepared by Duong Lam residents. After lunch, students were free to explore, take photos, or rent bicycles to tour around the village and experience its rustic, tranquil charm.

Afternoon session (13:30 – 16:30)

The field trip continued with visits to several famous nearby sites, including:
Ngo Quyen Mausoleum – the resting place of the national hero who ushered in Vietnam’s era of independence.
Phung Hung Temple (Bo Cai Dai Vuong) – dedicated to the hero who played a vital role in the nation’s early history.
Mia Pagoda – renowned for its collection of hundreds of valuable ancient statues.
Temple of Scholar Giang Van Minh – honoring the loyal envoy of the Le Trung Hung dynasty.

Conclusion (16:30 – 18:00)

Before returning, the group stopped at the village center to buy local specialties as souvenirs. The trip concluded with the delegation returning to Trung Vuong University after a meaningful day of learning and exploration.

During the closing remarks, Dr. Nguyen Van Binh, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, emphasized:

“This field trip is a valuable opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, while also developing professional, organizational, and communication skills — essential qualities for Tourism students. The Faculty will continue organizing more experiential trips to enhance training quality and foster students’ holistic development.”

It was not only an educational experience but also a bonding journey that strengthened team spirit, inspired learning motivation, and created lasting memories — especially for the freshmen of Cohort 16, Faculty of Tourism – Trung Vuong University.
