On the morning of January 14, 2025, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Trung Vuong University organized an enriching extracurricular program at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi. Designed for first-year students, this activity provided a meaningful opportunity to explore Vietnam’s rich cultural and historical heritage while fostering national pride, community spirit, and a deeper connection to their roots. By blending classroom knowledge with real-world experiences, the program created an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Guided by Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen from the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences’ China Studies Institute, students took part in a series of immersive activities. These included a ceremonial incense offering, an exploration of the Temple of Literature’s historical and cultural significance, and a closer look at the 82 Doctoral Steles—symbols of Vietnam’s esteemed academic legacy.

Students also visited Thai Hoc House, examined ancient calligraphic plaques and couplets, and delved into their cultural meanings. They gained valuable insights into Vietnam’s feudal education system, learning about the rigorous selection and training processes for scholars of the time.
Reflecting on the experience, Tran Tien Hoang, a student from the faculty, shared:
“This was my first time joining such an exciting field trip. Not only did I learn more about history and culture, but I also felt immense pride standing before the Doctoral Steles—a testament to our ancestors’ dedication to education. The trip also strengthened my bond with classmates and lecturers.”

The program concluded at 11:00 AM, leaving students with lasting impressions and memorable experiences. Beyond expanding their knowledge, the trip encouraged reflection on the importance of tradition and community while fostering stronger peer connections.
