“Trung Vuong University has achieved Educational Institution Quality Accreditation, which will help the university align with national educational standards and norms, as well as integrate internationally,” stated the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
A Milestone in Commitment to Educational Quality
On the morning of March 16, in Hanoi, the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation – Vinh University held a ceremony to announce the decision and award the Educational Institution Quality Accreditation Certificate to Trung Vuong University.
In his opening speech at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Huy Oanh, President of Trung Vuong University, summarized the university’s development process. He also reviewed the quality accreditation work from June 2021 to January 8, 2023, when the university successfully reported to the Educational Quality Accreditation Council of Vinh University and was recognized for meeting the quality standards for higher education institutions.
Dr. Nguyen Huy Oanh stated: “Trung Vuong University was established in 2010. Over more than 10 years of building and development, the university has been authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training to offer 8 undergraduate programs and 2 master’s programs, with more than 3,000 students and nearly 200 staff and faculty members.”
“In the context of strong globalization and international integration, the current educational environment poses many challenges to the university. The recognition of quality accreditation for educational institutions has indeed elevated Trung Vuong University’s status, demonstrating the University’s commitment to ensuring educational quality to society.”
“In this new phase of development, Trung Vuong University continues to invest in infrastructure, equipment for training and scientific research, strengthen the faculty, develop training programs, and expand the number of undergraduate programs from 8 to 14, providing high-quality human resources for society.”
“Additionally, the Board of Directors of Trung Vuong University has set specific directives through resolutions for the university’s key objectives by 2030: First, complete the evaluation of 100% of the training programs. Second, aim for a scale of 10,000 regular students. Third, strive to become a ‘University of Digital Transformation’. Fourth, position Trung Vuong University among the most prestigious universities nationwide.”
“To achieve these goals, Trung Vuong University is determined to work together in unity, with the courage to think, act, and take responsibility to successfully implement the outlined strategies,” added the President. At the ceremony, Mr. Gian Hoang Anh, representing the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation – Vinh University, announced the decision to award the Educational Institution Quality Accreditation Certificate to Trung Vuong University.
In his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Huy praised the efforts of the faculty and students of Trung Vuong University for their achievements. He expressed: “We are very impressed with the previous remarks by Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nguyen Duy Ninh, at the Educational Quality Accreditation Council, regarding the university’s solid, sustainable steps and clear development strategy up to 2030.”
“Today, returning to the university, I see significant changes in financial resources, infrastructure, faculty, and staff. In a short time, the university has made efforts to establish new proposals for six more undergraduate programs to provide human resources for society; recruited 30 faculty and staff with academic titles and degrees to work at the university. This is not something every university can achieve. Witnessing these changes, we are very hopeful that these will be the initial signs of sustainable development for the university.”
Aligning with National Educational Standards
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ninh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trung Vuong University, shared: “As of February 28, 2023, there are 151 higher education institutions nationwide that have been evaluated and recognized for meeting educational quality standards according to Circular 12 of 2017 on the quality accreditation of higher education institutions, out of a total of 245 institutions, excluding those in the military and police sectors. Compared to the old set of standards with 10 standards and 61 criteria, the new set of standards includes 25 standards with 111 criteria.”
“Today’s achievement will help the university align with national educational standards and norms, and integrate internationally.” According to the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, private universities in general and Trung Vuong University, in particular, are facing significant transformation opportunities.
He explained: “First, university autonomy is a major policy of the Party and the state, one of the most important solutions to promote higher education reform. Autonomy has been linked to private universities since their establishment, creating an advantage for private institutions.
Second, the digital transformation and digital university trends are irreversible. In this race, the starting lines of long-established (public) universities and new (private) universities will be closer. The more flexible and quicker one will win. Private means flexible, capable of quickly adapting to any issues.
Third, the percentage of students studying at private universities is currently only about 16%, a very low number compared to the government’s expectations and compared to other countries in the region and the world. The ratio of 215 students per ten thousand people in Vietnam is low compared to the region and lower than the average of OECD countries.”
“Vietnam’s economy is emerging under the ‘China + 1’ policy, currently facing a significant shortage of high-quality, standard-trained human resources closely linked to practical and business needs. Given this reality, opportunities are opening up for private universities, especially those with the model of universities within enterprises or enterprises within universities.”
“We will only reach our goals if we act decisively, persistently, and determinedly overcome all obstacles, with the spirit of ‘never say no and never say impossible!’ – the spirit of the heroes in wartime and in peacetime, which is also the spirit of the school named after the two national heroines Trung Trac and Trung Nhi! With what we have achieved, I believe we will reach our goals and achieve new successes. Trung Vuong University is proud to have you, and you will be proud to be part of Trung Vuong!” Mr. Nguyen Duy Ninh emphasized.
As part of the program, a signing ceremony was held between Trung Vuong University and the Vietnam Association of Consumer Goods Development (VACOD).
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Vice President of VACOD, shared: “We see that over the past 10 years, Trung Vuong University has made great efforts to achieve today’s results. VACOD, with its extensive experience and thousands of member enterprises nationwide, commits to accompany the university and provide the best support in the coming years, based on leveraging the association’s capabilities, resources, and conditions.”
“We will also promote the activities of Trung Vuong University to enterprises in need of high-quality human resources and standardized personnel. I hope that Trung Vuong University and the association will have closer ties and achieve the best goals.”
