Today, March 20, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the “Trưng Vương University Youth Pickleball Tournament 2025” took place at the Multi-Purpose Gymnasium of Trưng Vương University.
This is a highlight sports event within the university’s series of activities celebrating Youth Month.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Trịnh Minh Trường, M.A., Vice Rector of Trưng Vương University, along with numerous faculty members, lecturers, and students from various departments.
In his opening speech, Mr. Trịnh Minh Trường emphasized:
“This year’s Pickleball Tournament is not only a healthy playground for lecturers, staff, and students to improve their physical fitness but also an opportunity for the Trưng Vương community to showcase solidarity, sportsmanship, and mutual learning. Pickleball is growing in popularity in Vietnam, and we take pride in being one of the pioneering institutions introducing this sport to the youth.”
Following the opening ceremony, team representatives participated in a draw to determine the match order. The atmosphere was lively, filled with cheers and excitement from enthusiastic supporters.
The tournament will run for six days, from March 20, 2025, to March 25, 2025, featuring 16 teams from different departments and university clubs. The competition will follow a round-robin format in the group stage, transitioning to knockout rounds in the later stages.
The organizing committee announced that this year’s tournament introduces new improvements in both organization and prizes, promising exciting, intense, and dramatic matches.
Speaking with the Admissions & Communications Office, Ms. Trịnh Thị Thùy Dung, captain of the Foreign Language Department Pickleball Team, shared:
“We have prepared thoroughly for this year’s tournament. The entire team has been training diligently over the past month, and we are determined to achieve the highest possible results.”
