On January 29, 2026, students from the Faculty of Tourism at Trung Vuong University participated in an interdisciplinary experiential learning program at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. This off-campus learning activity featured strong practical application, contributing to diversified teaching methods and strengthening the connection between theory and practice for students.
The program was designed by integrating the modules Tourism Geography and Tourist Psychology – Communication Skills, enabling students to approach specialized knowledge within a vivid, authentic cultural tourism setting rich in educational value.
Learning in a Real Cultural Environment
At the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, students had the opportunity to directly explore living spaces, customs, traditions, and cultural identities of many ethnic groups across the country. Knowledge acquired in the classroom was brought to life through direct observation, hands-on experience, and academic discussion right at the destination.
Through observation and analysis activities, students gradually identified tourist psychology, behaviors, and needs in a cultural tourism context, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between tourism resources, visitor experience, and local cultural values.
Developing Professional Skills During the Learning Process
Beyond sightseeing, the program emphasized professional skill development through practical activities such as communication and etiquette, handling real-life situations, teamwork, group discussions, and presenting learning outcomes on site.
These experiences helped students enhance soft skills, shape professional thinking, and build confidence when approaching real working environments in the tourism and service sectors.
