A Tribute from the Younger Generation – Trưng Vương University Youth Union Honors Veterans Serving at the University

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, on the morning of April 27, 2025, the Youth Union of Trưng Vương University held a tribute ceremony and presented gifts to 12 veteran soldiers and ex-servicemen currently working at the university. The event was not only a chance for the younger generation to express deep gratitude to those who devoted their youth to the nation but also a recognition of their significant contributions to education today.

 

Educators with Two Noble Missions

Trưng Vương University is proud to have 12 staff members and lecturers who once served in various military units. They are not only brave soldiers of the past but also dedicated teachers and capable educational administrators of today.

The 12 veterans currently working at the university include:

• Mr. Hoàng Văn Bình – Vice Rector

• Mr. Phạm Như Nghệ – Vice Rector

• Mr. Trịnh Minh Trường – Vice Rector

• Col. Hoàng Ngọc Tú – Deputy Political Commissar/Chief Tank Officer, Deputy Branch Secretary

• Col. Phạm Xuân Ninh – Director of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, Deputy Head of the Nursing Faculty

• Col. Đàm Đức Hoan – Director of the Vietnam Coast Guard Training Center, Head of the Law Faculty

• Col. Nguyễn Xuân Hường – Policy Officer, General Staff, General Department of Logistics and Engineering, Head of Administration and Organization Department

• Mr. Phan Huy Hoàng – Officer, Chief Chemical Officer – Chemical Command

• Col. Vũ Văn Thuyết – General Department of Logistics and Engineering, Head of Automotive Engineering Faculty

• Mr. Nguyễn Văn Luận – Soldier, Regiment 192, Division 355, Corps 1

• Mr. Nguyễn Quang Tài – Soldier, Regiment 192, Division 355, Corps 29

• Mr. Dương Đức Toàn – Soldier, Regiment 14, Division 313

A Heartfelt Tribute from the Youth

During the ceremony, Ms. Trần Thị Thủy, Secretary of the University Youth Union, on behalf of all union members and students, expressed deep gratitude to the veteran educators:

“Today, we are privileged to stand here, to study and grow in such a nurturing educational environment, thanks to your sacrifices and dedication. You have contributed to the country twice — once on the battlefield to protect the nation, and again in the educational field, guiding the young generation. Your enduring patriotism and devotion are shining examples that we always cherish and strive to follow.”

Emotional Reflections from the Veterans

Mr. Trịnh Minh Trường, Vice Rector, speaking on behalf of the veterans, shared emotionally:

“Seeing students grow and become useful citizens is the greatest happiness for us. The most meaningful gift we hope to receive from you is your determination to study, train, and your patriotic spirit, ready to serve the country when needed.”

Col. Đàm Đức Hoan, Director of the Vietnam Coast Guard Training Center and Head of the Law Faculty, added:
“As educators, we continue our mission by imparting knowledge, experience, and nurturing a love for the homeland in our students.”

Preserving and Promoting Traditions

The tribute event also included a meaningful exchange session between veterans and students. The veteran educators shared moving stories about unity, perseverance, and deep camaraderie. Through these stories, they urged the younger generation to value peace, focus on learning, and contribute continuously to the nation’s development.

Through such meaningful activities, the spirit of patriotism, sense of responsibility, and gratitude for those who came before will continue to be upheld and passed down to the younger generations at Trưng Vương University in particular and among Vietnamese youth in general.
