Blending Cultures: A Special Korean Language Class During Ao Dai Week

As part of Ao Dai Week at Trung Vuong University, the Faculty of Korean Language organized a unique learning experience that seamlessly blended Vietnamese cultural traditions with Korean language instruction, offering students an immersive and engaging educational journey.

During the class, Dr. Pham Hong Phuong, Head of the Faculty of Korean Language, highlighted the significance of cultural exchange:
“The Ao Dai is not only a traditional Vietnamese garment but also a powerful cultural symbol and a bridge for international connections. Through Ao Dai Week, we aim to help students not only improve their Korean language skills but also develop a deeper appreciation for their own culture. This will empower them to confidently introduce Vietnamese heritage to international friends, making them cultural ambassadors in today’s era of global integration.”

Dr. Pham Hong Phuong further emphasized the importance of integrating cultural elements into foreign language education, stating:
“Language and culture are inseparable. Understanding one’s own cultural roots is essential for truly mastering a new language. By celebrating traditional Vietnamese culture within our language courses, we are fostering a well-rounded, global perspective among our students.”

Looking ahead, the Faculty of Korean Language plans to continue hosting activities that merge academic learning with cultural experiences, ensuring that students not only excel in language proficiency but also develop a profound understanding of both Vietnamese and Korean cultures.

The participation of female faculty members from the Faculty of Korean Language in Ao Dai Week has also contributed to portraying a beautiful image of Trung Vuong University—one that embodies both modernity and a deep appreciation for cultural heritage.
