On June 15, VNU held its annual Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference for 2023. The conference was co-chaired by Prof. Le Quan, President of VNU; Assoc. Prof. Pham Bao Son, Vice President of VNU; and Assoc. Prof. Vu Van Tich, Director of VNU’s Science and Technology Department.

The “2023 Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference” aimed to implement policies promoting science and technology. Attendees included leaders from various ministries and agencies, local government representatives, heads of research institutes, universities, businesses, and scientists.



Among the representatives were Mr. Nguyen Duy Ninh, Director of Ho Guom Group’s Service Division, and Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Vice President of Trung Vuong University.

The conference focused on strategic planning and implementing breakthrough policies such as:
- Investing in laboratories, key research centers, and strong research groups;
- Supporting international publications;
- Supporting young researchers;
- Attracting outstanding scientists to work at VNU;
- Supporting bilateral and multilateral cooperation in large international projects and joint funding with partners;
- Developing “spin-off” companies;
- Rewarding outstanding scientists;
- Promoting cooperation with businesses and developing an innovation ecosystem in research and technology transfer.


On this occasion, Ho Guom Group’s representative, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ninh, and the VNU Knowledge Transfer & Startup Support Center (VNU – CSK) signed a cooperation agreement.
This is an important step in promoting entrepreneurship at VNU. The agreement between Ho Guom Group and VNU – CSK creates significant opportunities for students, alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs. VNU – CSK plays a crucial role in fostering the growth of startups in Vietnam, particularly in science and technology fields.
This collaboration also benefits Ho Guom Group by helping the company identify and develop new projects. Mr. Nguyen Duy Ninh shared, “I hope this cooperation agreement will create an environment that fosters creativity and entrepreneurship, furthering the startup spirit and economic development in Vietnam. I believe this partnership will bring success and value to both sides.”
At the conference, T&T Group sponsored 5 billion VND to support the establishment of VNU HN-Holdings.
The Phan Anh Foundation, in collaboration with VICO, committed investment for the Smart-Refill project, coordinated by VNU – CSK.

Summarizing the conference, VNU’s President Prof. Dr. Le Quan highlighted that, relative to VNU’s investment in science and technology, the productivity of its scientific products is very high. He encouraged businesses to cooperate in research, transfer, and commercialization of products, and committed to providing favorable conditions in terms of infrastructure and policy. VNU’s support for business development also contributes to adding value to the national economy.
