On April 28, 2025, Trưng Vương University successfully organized a discussion event titled “Pride in National History – Moving Forward into the Future”, with the participation of 12 war veterans currently working at the university. The event was not only an opportunity to honor those who had served the country but also provided vivid historical lessons.

“History doesn’t only lie in books – it lives on in the hearts of those who experienced it,” shared Mr. Trịnh Minh Trường. “Today, we want to pass on to our students not just historical knowledge, but also the spirit, determination, and patriotism of the earlier generations.”

The Values Passed On
The discussion left a strong emotional impact and deep lessons for the more than 200 students in attendance. Stories of courage, discipline, camaraderie, and love for the nation were brought to life by the veterans.

Vice Rector Trịnh Minh Trường emphasized: “The value of history lies not only in events and timelines, but more importantly in spirit, resilience, and national pride. That is what we hope to pass on to today’s youth.”

A special video showcasing historical footage of the Vietnamese people’s fight and nation-building brought emotional moments to the hall. Many students were moved to tears watching scenes of heroic battles by our armed forces and citizens.
Trưng Vương University Honors Veterans in Education
One of the most memorable moments of the event was the tribute and gift-giving to the 12 veterans currently working at the university. This was a gesture of appreciation for their great contributions – both in the past on the battlefield and now in education.

Mr. Phạm Như Nghệ, Vice Rector, shared: “We are proud to have many veterans among our university staff – individuals who bring the military spirit and patriotism into teaching and educational leadership. They serve as role models for our students.”

The event concluded with heartfelt emotions, but the historical lessons and sense of national pride will remain with all participants – especially the students who will carry the torch into the future.
