With the goal of fostering students’ comprehensive development—both intellectually and physically—Trưng Vương University has officially integrated Taekwondo into its Physical Education curriculum for all student cohorts.

In the first session, the university’s sports training area was filled with energy and enthusiasm. Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with basic movements, warm up their bodies, and begin exploring this traditional Korean martial art.

The class is taught by Mr. Mai Duy Tuân, M.A., an experienced instructor known for his in-depth expertise and passionate, easy-to-understand teaching style. Beyond guiding students through fundamental Taekwondo techniques, he also inspires them with the martial spirit—instilling values of discipline, resilience, and confidence—essential not only in martial arts but also in life and academic growth.
“Taekwondo doesn’t just teach self-defense. It also builds willpower, perseverance, and team spirit—qualities that are crucial for the well-rounded development of today’s students,” shared Mr. Mai Duy Tuân.

Students will progress from basic to advanced techniques, including:
- Basic stances and movements
- Hand and foot strike techniques
- Traditional forms (poomsae)
- Practical self-defense skills
- Sparring under international competition rules
The Taekwondo course at TV-UNI is a perfect blend of physical education and cultural learning, offering students the chance to experience a vital aspect of Korean heritage right here in Vietnam.
Let’s follow the journey of these TV-UNI “warriors” as they take on the challenges—and the excitement—of Taekwondo!
